Public Libraries Victoria (PLV) have released the following statement:
“Public Libraries Victoria is required to move to a new statewide courier service for our intralibrary loans. This will take place over the next few months. There will be an interruption to the service that will temporarily affect the availability of intralibrary loans. In the meantime, library users can visit other libraries in person and borrow resources directly from those libraries.”

So what does this mean for Corangamite Moyne Library Service?
You can still borrow books from CMLS libraries (Derrinallum, Timboon, Port Fairy, Camperdown, Terang, Koroit, Cobden, Mortlake) and have them delivered to your allocated branch. You will not be able to borrow from other branches as part of the one card service, for example You will not be able to request a book from One card libraries be delivered to your local branch, for example you won’t be able to request a book that is only available at Ballarat, to collect locally. This hault in service will take effect from Monday 17 October and will only apply to NEW holds (reserves on books).

PLV are currently on the search for a new state wide courier. Due to the challenges and costs of the interim service, the consortium as a whole have chosen to pause new holds until this is resolved. PLV are not able to provide a timeframe, and are working to minimise the disruption and impact to our communities.
